Reagan County FFA receives Grants for Growing funding from National FFA Organization
INDIANAPOLIS (17, October, 2024, 2024/National FFA Organization) – The Reagan County FFA chapter in Big Lake, Tx has been awarded $3,095.00 as part of the Grants for Growing program. The nationwide program, sponsored by Tractor Supply Company, provides grant funds to local FFA chapters to support the development or improvement of agricultural education projects that enhance the classroom experiences for students through chapter engagement activities.
Reagan County FFA plans to utilize this funding to integrate supplemental equipment to aid students in techniques and skills related to agricultural mechanics. With the construction of the new Career and Technology Education building underway, adding virtual practice will allow students additional hood time regardless of outside conditions, while also providing immediate feedback for student success. The overall goal is to provide students with as many resources to be successful as possible in the trade industry.
The program provided over $900,000 to FFA chapters in 47 states. Funding is provided through consumer donations made during checkout at a Tractor Supply Company store by purchasing a $1 FFA Paper Emblem. The fundraising period aligns with National FFA Week in February.
