The RCHS Academic Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 24 at 6:00 p.m. in the High School Auditorium.

Texas Proposition 2 recently PASSED increasing the homestead exemption on a school district from $25,000 to $40,000. The ballot language: “The constitutional amendment increasing the amount of the residence homestead exemption from ad valorem taxation for public school purposes from $25,000 to $40,000.” What it means: Currently, homeowners can subtract $25,000 from their home’s value before school tax rates are levied. Proposition 2 would increase that deduction to $40,000 in value. The measure could save the average homeowner about $175 on their annual property tax bill and will go into effect this year (2022).

Reminder The 6th grade students will attend a field trip to Fort Concho tomorrow. They need to wear comfortable clothes and closed-toed shoes. Please bring water and sunscreen. Lunch is provided. The bus will leave at 8:30 in the morning.

Seniors and senior parents: If you are attending college, you will be required to have a meningitis immunization. If you make an appointment at the clinic here before graduation, the cost is minimal (probably less than $20). The day after graduation, it will increase to around $200 or more.

ACT testing date is June 11th. Registration closes Friday, May 6th. Juniors need to begin taking the ACT this summer and retake in the fall.

Reagan County ISD would like to invite community members to attend a district planning meeting tonight at 6:00PM in the high school cafeteria.

Reagan County ISD has met with staff and community members to develop building projects for the district. We want to invite community members to attend a presentation on Monday, April 25th @ 6:00 PM. We will look at different strategies we can use for planning and building through a bond.
